It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Picking out and decorating Jack's first Christmas tree.

This our view of the mountains from the back of our house. We'd been waiting for the first big rain of the winter so we could enjoy the snow on the mountains.

Jack loved this camel at at living nativity we visited last weekend.

Leavin' on a Jetplane.... to Michigan!

In mid-November, we took Jack on his first plane trip. We flew to Michigan, and had a great time with friends and family. Jack did SO well on the plane rides, sleeping in new places, and getting dragged all over to meet all the special people in our lives. It was such a special time and we feel very blessed to call these people our "loved ones."
We took Jack over to Calvin to walk around. He loved the baseball glove chairs in the new fieldhouse
He also loved ALL things about being at Grandpa and Grandma D's
Especially cuddling with Grandpa while watching Praise Baby
Ben and his birthday buddy cousin, Andy. Amelia and Jack were born exactly one year apart!
Great Uncle Mike carries on his tradition of teasing the kids!
Jack and Amelia play and get to know each other

Kendon and his Auntie Betsy
Jack with HIS Auntie Betsy and Uncle Kojo
College Housemates (go Giddings!) Betsy and Jill, holding each other's babies (born about 3 weeks apart!)
A whole lotta D's (four generations!)
With Great Grandpa D
Gettin' dinner at Auntie Susie's
Goofin' off with Eric, Kendon and Audrie
Meeting Uncle E!
Getting to know Great Auntie Karen... what a FUN lady!
Aunties are the BEST!

Yard work

In late October and early November, we redid our lawn that had scorched before we bought it. Here's the proof:

We borrowed a tiller from a friend....fun fun!!

We had a bunch of friends help. The fire truck had nothing to with our yard work.

Dad K. was a grass plug expert.

We finished planting on the first Saturday in November. Thanks to everyone who helped!

U2 at the Rose Bowl

Wow, what a show. We had a great time last Sunday night. Here's a visual journal:

Star sightings....

He treated Betsy asking for a picture better than he treated Pam.

A little flushed by the flash...Betsy spotted Chris O'Donnell.

Home Improvement, anyone? He was in line for Fatburger right behind us. (He was Tim "The Toolman" Taylor's brother on the show.)

Black Eyed Peas opened.

Slash played "Sweet Child O' Mine" with them...great rendition.

And of course.....

We got home at about 1:45am and had to go to work the next day, but was it ever worth it. They played non-stop for 2 1/2 hours and were virtually flawless. Incredible show, even better to be there together.

Fall Family Pictures

Our good friends, Heather and Eddie, went to Oak Glen with us a couple weeks ago so that Heather could photograph Jack and us. We were lucky to hit it on a cooler day with lots of sunshine. We enjoyed mini-donuts, hot apple cider, apples, pumpkins and each other's company! Heather did an amazing job, as you can see below. Thanks, friend!
