Since coming home from Michigan less than two weeks ago he has
1) started swimming lessons
2) gone on the potty twice
3) moved out of his crib and into a "big boy bed"!!!
...high fives and kicks!
He's still pretty nervous in the water, but we're hopeful that he'll be much more comfortable after 4 weeks.
The first time that Jack went on the potty, he simply told Daddy that he wanted to go. We couldn't believe it when he actually did! We called a lot of special people to let Jack tell his big news! :) We thought it was maybe a fluke, but two days later he did it again. This time we made a big deal and took Jack to the park and out for icecream. He's a little monkey on the play equipment!
Taking him to icecream was so fun! He picked it out all by himself.... he wanted chocolate icecream with MnMs! :) He couldn't even wait to sit at the table to snatch his first spoonful!
Last night was Jack's first night in his "big boy bed."
I snapped this picture of him napping yesterday... his last time in his crib (*tear*).
When he woke up from his nap, we "unveiled" his new big boy room that we had been working to put together all week (and barely finished when he was waking up!). To say he was excited would be an understatment. It was so cute!
How did he do with the new sleeping arrangement, you might ask?
Well, he was super excited for bed. He got out of bed only ONE TIME(!), but went right back in when we told him he was not allowed to get out. He slept well all night! Today's nap, however, was a bit of a different story. He just wanted to play in there! Finally after about 90 minutes (and several warnings!) he fell asleep. We'll see how night #2 goes! ;)
It's crazy how all of these events make us feel like we have such a little BOY, as opposed to a toddler. He's getting so grown up....
except for moments like these when he wants to sit in his baby brother's Bumbo seat, that is!
