Jack's First Birthday!
Earlier this week Jack turned one. It's hard to believe that a year ago he weighted about 3 and a half pounds. His birthday brought back tons of memories: an unexpected hospital stay, some really uneasy and unsure feelings, lots of joy, and lots and lots of visits to the NICU. We had tons of fun with friends and family as we celebrated Jack.

A brief trip to the snow
One thing we love about living in California is the weather. Most of the year (except for those 100 degree plus days in the summer) it's quite pleasant. One of the benefits of the good weather and geographic location is getting to see snow in the mountains, but not live in it. This was the case a few weeks ago and we decided to take a trip up the mountain for a few hours. These pictures were taken about a half hour from our house.

A long overdue post
Well, much has happened since our last update. There have been two important "devolopments" lately. One, our little guy has learned how to crawl . He is now into everything. We haven't quite figured out why, even though he has plenty of fun toys, he usually wants the cord plugged into the wall, the cell phone, the newspaper, the remote control, the laptop, the picture frame on the shelf, the flowers in the vase.....pretty much whatever he's not supposed to have. The second development is Jack's tooth. It's just barely peeking through his bottom gum.

That being said, it is so much fun. He is so happy being able to get everywhere he wants. He also pulls himself up on whatever he can. Most of the time he's pretty balanced, but he's certainly fallen his fair share. He continues to grow and make his parents proud.
